Award winning Australian pianist Sean Foran is at the forefront of contemporary jazz in Australia. A talented performer and composer Foran has toured Australia, Japan,the UK, France and Canada with his trio "MISINTERPROTATO and released 3 critically acclaimed recordings with the group. A graduate of the Conservatorium in Queensland, Foran also attended the Banff Centre for the Arts, Canada and recently the Leeds College of Music UK to complete his Masters. A program funded by recieving the Brisbane City Council Lord Mayors Emerging Artist Fellowship. He has studied with Andrea Keller in Melbourne, Dave Douglas and Vijay Iyer in Canada, Lars Jansson in Sweden and John Taylor, Matthew Bourne in the UK. He is also a double QSong Jazz winner in Queensland, Australia, a Musicoz and APRA PDA finalist and has recieved funding for writing, touring, recording and study projects from major Australian funding bodies. His music is strongly melodic, rich in texture with seductive engaging rhythmic ideas.
