Katie Wighton has proven herself to be one of the city’s best up and coming jazz vocalists. Timeoff, July 2009. In 2007, she won the Generations in Jazz Vocal Scholarship and was recently named a finalist in the prestigious Qsong awards with her song The Theory of Us.This song is on her current album, recently released with Brisbane piano player, Dave Spicer. Performing alongside musical greats such as James Morrison, John Morrison, James Muller and Phil Stack, Katie looks forward to a prosperous career across many genres. Putting jazz a little on the back burner - for now - Katie has recently formed a pop band, 'Katie & Pie', who perform regularly around Brisbane, with a view to do an EP in early 2010. "Katie Wighton is out on her own with tracks that combine jazz and pop to create a ‘quirky and unique’ sound." Rave Magazine July 2009.
